A Look At Non-Invasive Colonoscopy In New Jersey

By: Samson Paulotti

Everyone would agree that a colonoscopy in New Jersey is one of the most uncomfortable examinations that they could go through. Who likes the idea of a tube being inserted into your intestines through the throat? The thought itself is enough to make someone gag even without the tube sliding down your throat.

However, technology advancements nowadays have allowed for non-invasive colonoscopies to be performed in New Jersey and in other states as well. This is made possible through the development of the Virtual Colonoscopy by several companies, including Viatronix in partnership with NJ-based Technology Integrations for Medical Applications, Inc.

How Virtual Colonoscopy Works in New Jersey

Unlike traditional colonoscopy, virtual colonoscopy or VC in New Jersey is a simple and quick process. There are no sedatives or even anesthetics involved for preparing the patient for the procedure. You will be required to take laxatives on the day prior to your scheduled colonoscopy. Since it is non-invasive, the feces in your intestines should be cleared or tagged using a special solution, so that they don't interfere with the actual process.

First, you are made to lie face-down on an examination table. A tube will be introduced to the rectal area. Through this tube, air is pumped so that your intestines are expanded and will be better viewed in the 3D image. Pictures of your intestines are then produced through a specialized computer scanner. The procedure is then repeated this time with the patient lying face-up on the same table.

From thereon, the computer in New Jersey handles the processes. The system will then compile the results of the scanning into a three-dimensional image. This image is then used by the radiologist to interpret the results of the colonoscopy and find out whether one or more abnormalities are present in the colon.

As you could, VC in New Jersey is a very comfortable procedure. There's no need for you to endure the discomfort of a colonoscopy tube sliding down your throat and moving inside. Plus, VC spares you from worrying about the possible risks of conventional colonoscopy like gastrointestinal perforation, bleeding and acute renal failure from the preparatory oral sodium phosphates.

You can also go back to normal after the virtual colonoscopy procedure without any recovery periods. Right after your colonoscopy, you can get out of the door and go back to whatever business you have to attend to.

The TIMA-Viatronix Team

In New Jersey, the first companies to introduce the idea of colonoscopy in 2006 for hospitals were Viatronix and Technology Integrations for Medical Applications, Inc., the company founded by S. Vincent Grasso. Viatronix, on the other hand, is a New York-based company that specializes in medical imaging and diagnostic software.

Grasso's application is a combination of the Viatronix V3D-Colon VC program and TIMA's Digital Medial Patient Record platform. This joint platform makes it possible for physicians to compile and store patient's colonoscopy information for later reference. Data is quickly delivered from the V3D to the TIMA platform in just seconds. Viatronix currently provides training for radiologists, gastroenterologists, and senior radiology personnel on how to use the company's virtual colonoscopy program.
